Objective This spirit doesn't have an official name. The name on this article is simply a descriptive name of this spirit.

Drowned Spirits are one of the Spirits in Yomawari: Night Alone and in Yomawari: Midnight Shadows.

Appearance Edit

The Drowned Spirits appear as large, pale, and bloated human bodies without any clothing. They appear to be floating in water, with their back facing the sky. They have small ripples around their body and leave small waves as their trail.

Behavior Edit

These Spirits float in the paddy areas of the Fields. If the Protagonist comes within their view and radius, they will chase after the Protagonist. They have the ability to float on land and go through certain walls. They will chase after the Protagonist until either they get close enough to her and explode, or the girl escapes from their range.

The player can throw a pebble at them to make them explode.

Mythology and Theories Edit

The Drowned Spirits are probably the restless or resentful spirits of people who died from drowning or from an injury while their bodies are left floating in the water. The fact that many of these Spirits can be found in the Fields may be because they are the spirits of people who were killed in the Warring States Period or Shogunate Era. These people were probably killed by soldiers, bandits, or occultists through inflicting fatal wounds before leaving their bodies in the water near their fields or, less likely, drowning them there. These people, now angry spirits, take out their rage and frustration on people who pass by their original fields during the night.
